Kensington Cares

The Kensington section of Philadelphia is nationally known as one of the hardest hit areas due to opioid abuse.

Weekly, our team travels to Kensington to provide basic necessities such as food, clothing, and toiletries to addicts living on the street. Throughout the year, Addiction Angels hosts drives at schools and churches to collect these relief items. During trips to disperse these items, Addiction Angels is able to directly guide people desiring to enter rehabilitation facilities through the organization’s numerous contacts.

Many people do not know how to find the help. Addiction Angels seeks to bridge this gap.

Patrice’s Partners

After losing her husband to a heroin overdose, Patrice dedicated her life to helping others addicted to opioids in the same area where her husband lived the last days of his life. Given a vacant lot by the city of Philadelphia, Patrice provides care and respite for addicts needing assistance.

Addiction Angels provides supplies to Patrice and has helped make permanent improvements to the lot to provide restroom, shower, and sleeping facilities for those in need. Addiction Angels also helps to maintain and landscape the lot as a haven for people needing a break from living on the street.

Mother of Mercy House

Originally founded by two archdiocesan priests and an Immaculate Heart of Mary Sister, the Mother of Mercy House provides food and services to the most impoverished of the Kensington section of Philadelphia.

Addiction Angels helps to provide financial support and facilitates in-person assistance at the center.

Comunità Cenacolo America

Addiction Angels provides significant financial support to the Cenacolo Community which is a catholic based organization focused on helping people overcome substance abuse disorder. The community provides housing and healing in a faith based program at absolutely no cost to its residents. Our organization is dedicated to helping to facilitate their efforts.

Behavioral Wellness Center at Gerard

Pharmacological assistance is one of the most successful methods to help overcome addiction. Addiction Angels helps to facilitate entry into Medical-Assisted Outpatient Treatment(MAT) thereby greatly increasing a patient’s chances for recovery.

Wound Care

Due to xylazine being mixed with illicit drugs, it is common to see flesh wounds on the arms and legs of addicts that simply will not heal. Sadly, many of these people will not seek care or do not have access to a medical facility. Addiction Angels organizes health care providers to provide wound care directly on the street and arranges follow-up visits to facilitate full healing of these wounds.

Narcan Distribution

Addiction Angels distributes opioid reversal agent Narcan(naloxone) and fentanyl/xylazine test strips directly to those at the greatest risk of an overdose. This emergency treatment can be life-saving for many suffering an opioid overdose.
